Edinburgh College of Art Degree Show 2013

I visited Edinburgh last weekend. It has been 8 months since I left. I think since I saw the photos of Edinburgh in 2008 in Tokyo, it became my special place. I think it would not change forever...

The Edinburgh Castle was still there, like knowing everything that has happened there, or probably, it does not know anything, just sitting there. If the castle could feel anything, I would like to talk to it.

Every corner in Edinburgh could be a nice photo, such a pretty city...

My art school, Edinburgh College of Art...

I studied there only for 2 years and stayed as an artist in residence after that, so this college is my starting point as a jeweller. It was really meaningful and great sentimental visit for me.

Jeweller works this year were really dynamic. I was impressed that the students created much bigger scale works than other years with any kind of materials.

I personally like those works, really playful with great choices of texture and material.

Sally Morrison

Emelie Westerlund

The sculpture and print work, Davy Forsyth.
They are beautiful prints using this sculptural equipment, "metal salt printing."

It is always inspiring to visit art schools' degree show. They are all fresh talents!

some inspirations...

I hadn't been back to Japan for a year and haven't updated my blog for a year either....

Since last year, so many things has changed around me,moving to London, setting up my studio, and getting to know new people

Always, it is really nice to go back home and to relax myself there, seeing my family and good friends.

There is not much sunshine here in London, however in Japan, even in February, I could get the nice and warm sunshine everyday! It was the season of the beautiful plum blossom.

I was inspired by so many things during my short visit. I completely forgot those beautiful sceneries in Japan by living in London.

My favorite parination, light green colour...

Sugitama, a ball made by cedar...

green tea...

 kimono and obi belt...

My favorite again, cracked tree bark with moss...

 My home town, Osaka...

something I love....

I have not posted here for a while....
After I had my first international trade fair in Munich, Inhorgenta,
I went back home, to Japan and flew to Hawaii for my sister's wedding.
It was really nice to see my family and friends there,
and also the time in Tokyo was greatly refreshing time for me.

in Hawaii island.
The huge lava landscape and the Mauna Kea covered with snow.

Japan from the sky and Tokyo.

Inhorgenta was a great stimulus for me in meeting professionals and industries.  Every single thing encouraged me there Those wonderful opportunities keep me going.

It's Easter here, and students are on holiday, and I have finished preparing all my shows this month, so I have time to do some for me!

I am trying to refreshing my head to look at things I love!
Of course, I love Japanese architecture which inspires me in my jewellery, but I am looking at more original interests in my mind!
Those are some things I love.

I cannot stop looking at them!! They are so beautiful and attractive. sexy!
Let's see what is going to happen next!

Galerie Marzee visit

I have been to the Netherlands to visit Galerie Marzee last month.
It was amazing weather. I prepared thick clothes for cold and wet weather,
but it was absolutely warm under the clear sky!

Galerie Marzee is in Nijmegen.
I did not expect it would be a big city, but there were many people
shopping and sitting in cafes: new and beautiful city.

It was Kunst Night in Nijmegen, and there was a music event in the gallery. I really enjoy their music! fantastic!

As you know, I love buildings and roof tiles.
There are absolutely so many wonderful architecture in the Netherlands.
I rent a bike and ran through all paths there!
It was really exciting moment for me!
They are all simple but unique and colourful.

My friend took me to a small town where many windmills are located.
It is really typical feature of the Netherlands and
beautiful under the blue sky!
